We promote self-employment among the targeted people especially among the youth and women through capacity building on income generating activities to spur local economies and bring development.

Employment and Income Generation In Somalia 

DANDOR has enough experience to and adequate capacity to implement projects that are intended to increase the income and employment opportunities of the youth groups and other vulnerable groups. The NGO has fourteen 19 years of experience of vocational skill management and programming for IDP and other vulnerable groups.

The professional capacity of the NGO results from the professional skills in Education and vocational school management of its staff that include the Youth Vocational Training Center (YVTC), management, YVTC trainers etc. DANDOR capacity  to train Puntland youth groups is also based upon the physical assets of  YVTC premises, with adequate training equipments, tools which can  accommodate parallel training activities for at least 10 different skills/ Trades. These include, Electricity, tailoring garment making, Production of Deodorants, Tie and Die, Carpentry, masonry /brick making, Painting and polishing, plumbing , welding and basic skills for computer programming.        

DANDOR realize the importance of youth programming for peace and the socio-economic growth of Puntland population and emphasizes the youth engagement in the rebuilding of the country through the initiation of Youth employment generation and other livelihood improvement projects. DANDOR has established a Youth Vocational Training Center (YVTC) in 2001 at Bossaso. 2,500 youngsters have acquired marketable vocational skills in this center with funds from different INGOs and UN-Agencies that include CARE international, Gothenburg initiatives, UNDP, ILO, UNICEF etc
